Australian Kelpie

So here is the first instalment of some of our favourite and best loved dog breeds, including some you may not have heard of. I'll be explaining their temperament and the pros and cons of owning that particular breed.

Starting with

A - Australian Kelpie
Also known as the Australian Cattle Dog, this beautiful breed of dog is not very well known in the UK but is very popular in Australian households.

In the UK, Kelpies are often used on farms as they are excellent working and herding dogs with superior intelligence and an unbelievable abundance of energy with the ability to keep working relentlessly from dawn until dusk, and longer if they could!

New feature coming next time...

So I have managed to write another blog in one week rather than one year, what an achievement.

This week we are happy to say Rachel, our newest team member, has settled in very well. She's enjoying her new job and is proving invaluable to the business.

I couldn't be happier to be saying goodbye to February and winter at the end of this week! Summer seems to be within our sights and I am probably not the only one fed up with the cold wet weather.

From next week I will be doing a new feature; the A-Z of dog breeds.

It's been a year, and what a year!

Wow, it's been nearly a year since I last wrote on here and I suppose I can say the only reason I haven't done so is because its been such a busy year full of adventures, highs and lows!
Lately we have had some sad news and had to say goodbye to some of our customers and their dogs for various reasons and in particular we said a very sad goodbye to Rudy who was put to sleep and is now happily playing in doggy heaven.
Over the past year we have had the privilege of working with a very large number of new dogs, cats and other animals and thank you for our great successes.

Summer is on the way

Hello again dog lovers!

As I write this I am sitting in my garden in the sun. Its a beautiful spring day with a warm sun, making it feel very much like the middle of summer! I just hope this is a sign of things to come.

Dog walking is so enjoyable in this weather, and depending on which walks we go on we are lucky enough to see some beautiful views across the Bedfordshire countryside. The sun just seems to make everything looks that little bit more breath taking!

We've taken on yet more customers, (hello Lola, Mickha, Milly and any others that have joined us in the past few weeks) and enjoyed some new walks at different locations.

Long time no speak!

Hi there every body! Firstly, sorry its been such a long time since we have posted, things have been pretty busy as you can imagine.

We have yet again increased our client base, with more dogs to walk and more happy customers. Best of all, the weather has vastly improved making for very happy dogs and walkers! We love this weather and we love being out and about in it, and the dogs seem to pick up on the summery happy vibe so seem a lot happier after their walks, not to mention cleaner!

We are very happy that we haven't had snow this year, its horrible to walk in and with Eliot out walking 18 dogs a day it can become very uncomfortably cold.

Ticking along nicely

Hello everyone!

I'm getting a bit slack with these blogs, I do apologise because I know some of our customers love to read them.

Its Monday, and the rest of this week is looking to be very hectic. The weather today is absolutely beautiful and I know Eliot has loved todays walks in the fresh air under endless blue skies.

Your dogs are also loving this weather, its perfect dog walking weather! I have a feeling however that the remainder of the winter will be quite harsh and bitterly cold.

AS the inevitable snow arrives within the next few months we will be asking that you give as much notice as possible for cancellations.

The run up to Christmas

Yes, my name has changed! I am now Carlie Thomas!
Our wedding was amazing, with stress and drama along the way but I am officially Eliot's wife now, and I love it. I am so happy that all parts of our lives are coming together so nicely.
Unfortunately we didn't get to have our dog Casper there on the day for photos, so we sat and (attempted) to show them to him anyway, I think he seemed interested for a short while!
We came back from our wedding and, with no honeymoon, everything has returned to normal rather quickly, with business booming and lots and lots of happy customers and wagging tails.

All sorts of things!

Hello all again!
I am already slacking on this blog thing, I have missed a whole week. It just shows how busy busy busy we are!
Another great two weeks have gone by, with lots of lovely walks in challenging weather. We have heard from yet more new customers wishing to use us over the Christmas period, so if you think you'll need us it is better to call sooner rather than later, but we'll always do our best to fit you in.
Its now three days until the wedding, which is quite exciting!

Dogs and Weddings

Hello Pet lovers!
The past week has been manic, with each and every day full of dog walks. Eliot can leave the house at 9am and wont be back until 4pm! As you can imagine, that is great news.
Not only is this great news for the business, but Eliot is getting fitter and feeling better about himself too. All this, just in time for our wedding!
Eliot and I are getting married on 30th November 2013, precisely 17 days away and wow are we nervous now! For our customers reading this, Eliot will still be working on Friday 29th, but not on the 30th or the 1st December.

A stormy week!

Hello again!
Well, what a week Pets and Pals have had. As you already know it was Eliot's first week running the business full time and we were set for a busy one.
We had new signage printed for the new car which has been serviced and cleaned (although I'm sure it wont stay clean for long!) and Eliot spent a lot of time leafleting to encourage new customers. We have had two new customer enquiries which is so exciting and I am due to meet them both this week.
However, the busy week soon disintegrated thanks to the big storm that hit England at the beginning of the week!
